(mild) Flavor Explosion!

This book is neat.  Real simple.  I didn't actually follow the recipe to the letter, but still, real simple.  This is probably why in general, I don't cook and am bad at it.  I look at recipes and think "meh, I don't need that.  And I'm sure as hell not doing that" and end up scrapping or changing half because I'm lazy.  Really, I just opted out of the skin-on chicken the recipe called for, but come on, who wants skin on their chicken anyway?  We are a boneless skinless type of society.
So basically, it was a chicken with apricots recipe.  I don't feel like typing out the recipe (I just finished watching Volcano (yes, with Tommy Lee Jones) and I'm exhausted, what with all the liquid hot magma and social commentary) and I also am wondering about the legality of such things, so no actual recipe.  Instead, photos!
This is me cooking!  Or the chicken cooking anyway.  Chicken, apricots, onions, red wine, and red wine vinegar.  (I'll say no more as to the quantities or proportions.  Please don't sue me, Mark Bittman.)
This is me eating!  I really should have thought ahead and included a starch, like rice or noodles, but I didn't think ahead so I had no starch.  Hopefully I shall develop such meal planning skills as the month progresses.
Did I mention it tasted pretty good?  It did.  Chicken was a bit dry because I spent too long trying to reduce the sauce, but it was still pretty good.
Don't worry.  Tomorrow we'll go back to my lovely drawings and you won't have to look at any more of these color photos.
